Breaking the Silence

I am currently working on a middle grade/early young adult historical fantasy novel set in the twilight years of the Carolingian empire. The story follows Stephen, the orphaned son of a king who is put in a silent monastery for safekeeping, where he discovers a special musical talent that allows him to manipulate the spheres of the universe.

This work is complete and I am currently in the process of securing a contract for publication – subscribe for updates!

God in the Flesh

I also have been working on an academic monograph on the ways ordinary peoples’ associations with flesh in sixth-century Gaul influenced the ways that church leaders explained the theology of Christ as the Word-made flesh. I am nearing completion and will be looking to publish with a university press soon.
